omg, your art is the best! I got the fire ferrets shirt last fanime, and i didnt know you had more! Will you be at Fanime this year?

Awesome! <3 Glad you like the Fire Ferrets design. :D The only cons I tend to go to are PAXEast, PAXPrime, C2E2 and MAGfest. CA is so very far away from me in Ohio~

golbat asked
While I do realize you have several shirt designs that have Poison pokemon on them (Solar Beams, Night Shades, and a Beedrill on the bug one), will you actually be making a Poison Type one? Poison is my favorite type and I would be all over that in a heart beat! My best friend has the Night Shade one and I want one to go along with hers!

Thanks so much! :D Seems you may have missed that team… I did Poison Types already (Sludge Waves). You can see all of them here!

Emily Graslie, of the Brain Scoop, won a Shorty Award last night.

The Shorty Awards aim to highlight achievements in social media from a variety of categories - Actors (MISHA COLLINS), to Activists (Against Suicide), Author (John Green!), even Nonhumans (Sarcastic Rover) - across multiple platforms - mainly Twitter, but also tumblr, YouTube, and Facebook. This was the first year they had a category for Museums, which I was chosen for. I’m very humbled to have so much support in my mission of promoting museums, and I could not have won without people taking the time to vote for me. I was also the only non-institution in the category, up against the Royal Ontario Museum, Chile’s Museum of Natural History, and the Dartmouth Museum - all of which are very involved, active, and wonderful with their social media (and as a side note, WAY TO GO for representing natural history museums in the category! We dominated!)
I’m not posting this to brag or congratulate myself - I think it says something about museum activism and engagement when we can step inside a realm of popular culture and make an impression. To see museum support and activism surface in these online communities is thrilling. It’s a win for museums everywhere. We may not be pop stars or celebrities, but we are just as deserving of the public’s attention, and for that I’m really honored that I can give a solid fist pump in the air for museums everywhere. Thanks to everyone who voted!

Very happy to see this. :D Congrats Emily!!

Fangamer Jewelry

Our friends at Fangamer just introduced a new line of necklaces. You can open any door in Hyrule with the Small Key ($17) and Boss Key ($18) necklaces. Perhaps you prefer getting Jiggy ($15) with it alongside Banjo and Kazooie. You can also keep in old school with the classic question block ($17).

All necklaces were designed by the talented Jon Kay.

Brain-scooper Emily, you are so great! <3 Fistbump from a fellow painting major.
Here is a fanart~ I’d love to support DFTBA with a shirt design. :D

This is a cardinal “gynandromorph” - an animal that exhibits both female and male sexual characteristics. As different sexes are differently coloured, each half of the bird is a different shade.
